Food food food

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving, I know that my recently gained ability to eat anything and everything helped to make my holiday very enjoyable! Jake, my husband, and I were able to join his family at a cabin in northern Minnesota for the weekend, we played games and ate lots of food and had just enough snow to make the lake shore property very scenic!

We are slowly getting ready for Christmas and planning out out our holiday schedule because we have to shuffle family gatherings around, and all I keep thinking is that next year not only will I have a 7 month old but also a new brother-in-law and a nephew! My sister is getting married in September and we are very excited to welcome her fiance and his son into our family, our family tree is expanding almost as rapidly as my baby bump. Previously I had posted a picture of my very small baby bump and now it is not so small anymore, I do not think that I have been this excited about food in months - and it is starting to show.

Something else that is starting to show is my excitement about our new little one, I bought 2 adorable onsies and I am starting to think about nursery designs. My current favorite themes are a tea party room if we have a little girl and a superhero room if we have a little boy, but my room choices change weekly so they will probably not stay the same.

For now, since we do not know the baby's gender, I will just be daydreaming about nursery plans, eating as much as physically possible, and waiting to feel Little E move - it should be happening any day now!

Due Date: May 11th 2013

Baby's Gender: I find out in 2 weeks
Losing my cookies: No More!
Cravings: Fruit, and sweets and sweets that contain fruit.
Weight Gain: Still slow on the weight gain but my belly is rapidly expanding!

Trimester 2

Now that I am severely behind on these posts I think I should catch up - oops! Since my last post, almost a whole month ago (again oops!) I am very very happy to report that I am doing 1000% better, no more getting sick and no more anti nausea medication because I am officially in the second trimester!

I had heard a couple horror stories about women being sick through the whole pregnancy and since that is how I felt during the first few months I was scared that I was going to be sick until Little E actually arrived - that would be no fun. Luckily, I am keeping my food down and eating lots - and it is starting to show! I am slowly looking more and more pregnant and less and less like I have been a bit too generous with the donut servings, although they have been a craving lately!

To top off all the fabulousness, Jake and I are officially moved into our own home. Well, technically it is his and his brothers home but since the kitchen was under construction for so long we had to stay somewhere else for almost a month, but now we are back into the house with a completed and working kitchen! And let me tell you I am already putting that kitchen to great use, especially since I am actually enjoying food now.

Due Date: May 11th 2013
Babys Gender: Unknown - maybe not for long!
Losing my cookies: Maybe 2 times this month, YAY!
Cravings: Donuts, Chocolate and Cottage Cheese - not together. Eww.
Weight Gain: Up 3 pounds this month, but still about 10 pounds shy of my starting weight.

Cottage Cheese and Root Beer

Hi all!

Sorry about last week, since I am new to the blogging world it may take me some time to be consistent with these.

On to the baby, Jake and I had our first look at Baby E this week! Since we got about six pictures I picked out the one that looks most like a baby because lets be real here, in some of the pictures it looks more like a sea monkey. We will not be able to find out if Little E is a boy or a girl for another month or so but this tiny image makes it feel so real!

Our little one is very active from what we could see and the perfect size for the point of the pregnancy I am at. We watched Little E do sit ups and stretch out a couple times during the ultra sound - Jake thinks we have a little gymnast on our hands.

In other news I am feeling not so barfy this week! The meds my doctor has me on work like magic and I am able to keep basically everything down - Amen to that.

Due Date: May 11th 2013

Babys Gender: Unknown
Losing my cookies: 2 times this week!!
Cravings: Cottage cheese, root beer and pears
Weight Gain/loss: I am slowly gaining back what I lost and my stomach sitcks out just a little (but I look more like I have been over doing the donuts and not quite pregnant yet)
I will have Jake start taking weekly pictures so you can follow the little ones growth and my expansion.

Anything but Mac and Cheese

This week has been packed full of fun events with my family, I always feel like my schedule fills up when ever my parents are in town. I went to a quilt shop with my mother and got some stuff for the baby blanket I am making (pictures later), I went to a very cold but very fun Potluck Square Dance and I get to see most of my extended family on both sides!

It may not seem like a whole lot but to a person who carries a bucket everywhere these were big events!

Although I am still getting sick every once in a while it is not as bad as before, I am off the fluids and can keep most foods down - except for mac and cheese, I am just going to be staying away from that for a while.

I have my first OB/GYN appointment this week so I am excited for that! I hope they do an ultrasound so I can see little E's heart beat for the first time!

My cousin, who has a one year old little boy, also helped me register for some must haves for the little one so now I am officially registered at Target - Score! Since we do not know if little E is a he or a she yet I am picking mostly gender neutral stuff but lets be honest all of the clothes specifically for a little boy or girl are so so cute!

To top it all off our kitchen is almost done! Jake and I have been living at my parents house for the first few months of our marriage because our kitchen, and many other parts of the house, are under major construction. We finally have our cabinets in, the floors are basically done and we are getting the counter tops next week (hopefully)!

Everything seems to be falling together and we are so excited to not be living out of a suitcase and have our own home back, and prepare for our new little arrival.

Due Date Still May 11th 2013
Baby's Gender: Still Unknown
Losing my cookies: Down to about 1-2 times a day!
Cravings: No big cravings, a few things that trigger a gag reflex if I smell them though
Weight Gain/Loss: Up 3 pounds! I am making up for the 15 I lost during the last few weeks.

Whipped Cream

Sorry to be a little late on this post, pregnancy brain has my days running together.

Not much new to report, I am still pretty nauseous but at least I am getting used to it! This week I had the unfortunate experience of trying to eat mac and cheese - just don't do it! Mac and cheese is probably the worst thing I have lost during this journey but I am sure I will find something just as fun later. Whipped cream is surprisingly good to eat, I also think that because it is basically froth I am less likely to see it later when I get sick! (My logic might be flawed there)

Grandma B is still coming over to give me fluids every other day - not fun but it helps so much, especially since I am now down to the very sickly weight of 115, last time i weighed that I was in high school.

In good news my parents came in to town today, my father headed up to Canada for a few days (He wastes no time) and my mother and I now get to spend some time together! Jake can hang out with us too but he will be working at the office and on our kitchen - which is almost done!

I am also looking for my OBGYN and a hospital to deliver at. One of my requirements for a hospital is that it cannot have carpet in very many areas, it may seem strange but think about all the fluids and spleens that spill out of people in a hospital. Gross. Questionable stains on the floor of my delivery room? Not happening.

Due date: May 11th 2013
Baby's Gender: Unknown
Losing my cookies: 2 - 5 times a day
Cravings: Sweets, popcorn and whipped cream
Weight gain/loss: I have now lost 15 pounds but hopefully if I keep eating whipped cream that will change!

Baked Potato Soup

We are getting to the middle of the first trimester, I hope, and the morning sickness seems to be getting worse - or maybe just different. I have also developed a very strong sense of smell which is sometimes good and sometimes it makes me lose my cookies, Jake (the husband and father to be) always smells really good so when he gets home from work I like to cuddle with him and my bucket. Foods on the other hand all smell horrible, like gag reflex kicks in if I even stand nest to the kitchen.

Speaking of food, gross, breads and water seem to no longer sit well with me, but baked potato soup and Chipotle seem to stay down! Success, especially because pretty much everyone knows I love Chipotle.

One other not so fun part of the whole water-wont-stay-down bit is that I am dehydrated, I have a history of dehydration so this is not good news for me. Luckily, there are some amazing nurses in my family and my Grandmother came over to administer some fluids to me last night, she will also be returning tomorrow to administer some more. That is me one the left, looking as pathetic as ever, and that is my Grandmother on the right setting up the IV.

Due date: May 11th 2013
Baby's Gender: Unknown
Losing my cookies: 1 - 5 times a day
Cravings: Food, in general. Apples lately
Weight gain/loss: So far 10 lbs down, but it may be because food and I are not friends right now.

Animal Crackers and Water

About two weeks ago I started feeling nauseous, and I blamed it on the stress of moving, getting married and living in a house under construction. The nausea did not go away and started to get progressively worse and that is when my new husband of just over a month found out that I am pregnant.

We were shocked, excited, scared, and very very unprepared - and it explained why the only thing I could keep down is animal crackers.

So here we are, my name is Maria and my husband is Jake and we now have a little Baby E on the way.

Todays Date: September 17th 2012

Due date: May 11th 2013
Gender: Unknown
Losing my cookies: 3 times today - so far
Cravings: Nothing, I lose everything I eat anyways
